Preventing speech information leakage through optoelectronic (laser) channels is a critical problem of technical information protection in high-security facilities. This study investigates the influence of SMC 12 protective polymer film and the chemical composition of window glass samples (Saint-Gobain Diamant 6 mm and Guardian float Guard 6 mm) on their ability to counteract speech information interception via laser acoustic reconnaissance systems (LARS). An experimental investigation of the elemental composition of the glass was conducted using the precision X-ray fluorescence analyzer EXPERT 3L, and the spectral transmission and reflection characteristics of both bare glass and polymer film structures were measured across the 300–2600 nm wavelength range. It is established that the presence of magnesium Mg (2.093% wt.) in Guardian glass slightly increases the reflection coefficient but substantially increases light transmission (by 1% at 660–2600 nm), making it less suitable for passive protection compared to Saint-Gobain glass. Crucially, the application of the widespread commercial protective polyester film SMC 12 increases the transmission coefficient of Saint-Gobain glass by almost seven times within the operational range of eavesdropping lasers (550–2200 nm), facilitating the remote interception of speech information instead of mitigating it. A multilayer multicomponent model is proposed to evaluate acoustic security, and practical guidelines are established to help security engineers avoid critical design vulnerabilities when selecting passive defense materials.
